Energomontaż-Południe S.A. is a leading contractor in the power engineering sector and the chemical and cement industries.

The company was established in 1952 in Katowice as Zakład Montażu Elektrowni i Urządzeń Przemysłowych "Energomontaż" (the "Energomontaż" power plant and industrial equipment assembly plant), and since the very beginning it has been focused on the power engineering sector. The contracts performed at that time included assembly of steam boilers, steam and water turbines, water equipment and electrical precipitators.

Energomontaż-Południe has operated not only in Poland, but also internationally, with contracts at power plants, heat and power generation plants, waste incineration plants, steelworks, chemical plants and oil refineries in Germany, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland and other countries. The high quality of our services has enabled us to cooperate with numerous international customers which then became our permanent partners.

In 1988, the company started exporting goods and services independently and worldwide, including to the Far East and Africa.  

The 1990s were a period of dynamic growth. On 7th March 1992, Przedsiębiorstwo Montażu Elektrowni i Urządzeń Przemysłowych "Energomontaż-Południe" was transformed into a single shareholder company owned by the State Treasury. On 1st April 1992, the company was entered into the business register in accordance with a decision of the District Court in Katowice.

In 1995, the company was restructured and privatised with the participation of a strategic investor, Fabryka Kotłów Rafako SA (a boiler manufacturer).

On 13th November 1997, the company was floated on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, where it is still quoted.

There are numerous specialised entities operating within the company, such as the Assembly Production Department (Łaziska Górne), Industrial Production Department (Będzin-Łagisza), Training Centre (Katowice-Ligota), Laboratory and Research Centre (Katowice-Ligota), Materials Wholesale Warehouse (Będzin-Łagisza) and Technical Office (Lüdenscheid, Germany). On 21 June 2011, as a result of a purchase of shares in the Company, the company PBG SA with its registered office in Wysogotowo near Poznan became the Company's strategic investor.
