EP partners the organisation of the Silesia Province Governor’s Second Charity Ball

Last Saturday, on 12 February, the Silesia Province Governor's Second Charity Ball was held at the Offices of the Province of Silesia building. Energomontaż-Południa S.A. was one of the main partners in organising the event. The proceeds went to Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom "Ulica", a foundation working to counteract and prevent social marginalisation.

During this year's ball, the guests enjoyed themselves in Venetian Carnival style which, in addition to Italian decor, included masks and capes handed out at the door. There was no lack of attractions at the event, as ensured by actors from Teatr Gry i Ludzie, a sash dance, and cookery demonstrations. One of the highlights of the programme was a pyrotechnically adorned cake!

Guests also had the opportunity of participating in an extraordinary auction of works donated by artists including Jerzy Becela, Renata Bonczar, Czesław Gałużny, Wojciech Kilar, Stanisław Mazuś, Witold Pałka, Barbara Ptak, Andrzej Urbanowicz and Henryk Waniek The top bid of 110,000 zlotys went for the manuscript of Festive Overture, composed by Katowice resident Wojciech Kilar for last year's 145th anniversary of Katowice being granted city rights. The winning bidders said they would donate the score to the Katowice Historical Museum. Outstanding sportsmen also contributed memorabilia - there were skis from Justyna Kowalczyk (auctioned off for 5,000 zlotys), a ski suit from Adam Małysz (which went for 6,500 zlotys), and a Real Madrid football jersey autographed by the Spanish team's players, which was bought by a participant at the ball for 8,000 zlotys.

Thanks to the support given, the foundation can continue its "From Slag Heaps to Himalayas" programme, under which, in May of this year, nine wards of the foundation will go on an expedition to Mount Everest, while the other wards participating in the project will have a summer vacation organised for them. We are delighted that Energomontaż-Południe was able to support this charitable undertaking.
