“Kids run around, parents have fun" – charity concert by “Iskierka" Foundation
The December concert organised by "Iskierka" Foundation has already become the tradition among Silesian cultural events. The Oncology Orchestra has been successfully performing in the regional theatres since 2006 and its concerts are enthusiastically received by the reviewers. Each year the concerts are supported by major Polish artists, but the greatest stars of the evening are the children assisted by the foundation.
"Children Oncology Orchestra is one of the most famous initiatives of "Iskierka" Foundation. It is composed of little patients, their parents and doctors and nurses. They all play on various percussion instruments under the direction of their enthusiast, Prof. Piotr Sutt. The initiators of the Orchestra assure that the project helps sick children to believe, that one can accomplish things which at first seem unattainable - and this in turn gives them strength to fight with the disease".

Also the company Energomontaż-Południe SA was proud to participate in this joyful and great event by organising the performance of „Choir of the Engineers" in the Silesian Opera in Bytom. The artistic challenge was to provide possibly best performance of the song by the Polish band Skaldowie, titled "Będzie kolęda". We leave the assessment of "our interpretation" for the audience, but undoubtedly everybody put all their heart into this performance.
Apart from the Children Orchestra, the following artists also gave their performance: bands RAZ DWA TRZY and Me, Myself and I, jazzman Krzysztof Kobyliński with the Dutch singer Reut Rivka and entertainer Szymon Majewski.
During the concert, the awards "Przyjaciel Fundacji Iskierka" (en.: Friend of "Iskierka" Foundation) were announced. One of them was presented to Energomontaż-Południe SA.
