Last Sunday, August 28, saw the 15th Silesian Gala of the Business Centre Club held at the Hunting Castle in Promnice.

 

The invited guests featured business, political and cultural celebrities. The event took the form of a picnic; its relaxed atmosphere did not however exclude some serious moments. These included presentation of the Caesar awards granted to Silesian Business Leaders. Businesses that have maintained their leading market position were awarded Diamonds by the Chapter, to go with their previously awarded statuettes. Energomontaż-Południe S.A. and Mr. Andrzej Hołda, President of the company's Management Board, won yet another Gold Diamond ‘attached' to their Silesian Business Caesar statuette. The Diamond was awarded in acknowledgement of their excellent financial results and their deep involvement in BCC-related and social activities.

BCC's Summer Silesian Gala is one of the region's major events, bringing together its intellectual, financial and political elites. The event provides a forum for these groups to mingle and initiate mutual cooperation.

 

  

‘Vienna Blood' was the leitmotif of this year's Gala edition, creating a unique musical setting permeating the entire event. Grażyna Brodzińska, the leading Polish operetta and musical comedy star, made her appearance; fragments of the classical operetta Wiener Blut by Johann Strauss II and promenade music pieces by Imre Klaman, Franz Lehar and Fritz Kreisler were performed by the Gliwice Music Theatre orchestra.
The Gala moreover offered an opportunity for a hat show and competition. A typically Viennese birthday cake, made by Daikin, was tasted.

Energomontaż Południe's stand enjoyed great popularity among the visitors. Frankly speaking, it was one of the most refined features of the event, and indeed one of those which thematically best fitted the Gala's motto.

The only unpleasant surprise was the pouring rain which by no means could have been considered, well, one of the event's attractions.
