On 28th July, in the "Spiż" music club located in Katowice in Opolska street, a pre-season presentation of GKS Katowice was held. It is was a special event, as considerable changes took place in the football club: new Management, new players, and first of all - a new major sponsor, Energomontaż Południe S.A.
The three-coloured fans could truly enjoy the fact that, shortly before the presentation kick-off, new players officially joined the team: Grzegorz Goncerz, who was finally transferred to GKS from Ruch Chorzów definitely and not under secondment, Paweł Olkowski, a right defender from Zagłębie Lubin, and Damian Sadowski, a young player who started his career in GKS, previously appearing in Wigry Suwałki.

 

After the players were presented by the Club President, Jacek Krysiak, and officially received the new shirts, President of EP, Mr. Andrzej Hołda, was invited to the stage. He admitted being proud of the fact that the emblem of Energomontaż-Południe S.A. can now be seen on the GKS shirts and announced that he would like to serve the club in a long-term perspective, but still even now he expects the success the declaration of which received an applause of the fans and the players themselves.

The honorary guest at the presentation was Vice-President of Katowice, Ms. Krystyna Siejna, who assured the fans loudly demanding a new stadium for GKS to be built that it will be erected, and the town authorities have even already allocated certain funds from the budget on that purpose.

The 2010/2011 season in Bukowa street will start on Saturday, 31st July, at 7 p.m. All fans are welcome. We are going to keep our fingers crossed for "our" team
