Polish Economy Pearls 2009

On 19th November, the Royal Castle in Warsaw held the awarding ceremony of the 7th edition of the "Polish Economy Pearls 2009" ("Perły Polskiej Gospodarki 2009") ranking. Energomontaż-Południe S.A. was granted a distinction award under the Large Pearls category for consistent implementation of the company‘s policy and strategy as well as for the leading position among the most dynamic and efficient Polish enterprises. This year's award has been the second such achievement of the Katowice-based company. The previous one was granted in 2008.

The ranking covered more than 2,000 largest Polish enterprises, such as banks, industrial, media, insurance and other companies.

Polish Economy Pearls 2009

The Polish Economy Pearls ranking is the most objective method of positioning enterprises. It has been based on a methodology and indices entailing the whole spectrum of the companies' operations, and the ranking position does not only depend on the given enterprise's size measured by the volume of its overall revenues but also on its efficiency, dynamics and financial liquidity. The ranking is prepared by specialists representing the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences based on the economic criteria assumed to determine primarily the dynamics and efficiency of the companies' activity. The assessment covers companies attaining receipts of more than PLN 100 million.

During the ceremonial Gala, also the Honorary Pearls awards were granted to the most outstanding figures active in the fields of economy, culture, science, promotion of patriotic values and social ideas. One those persons was the former Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki. The event was organised under honorary patronage of the Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, as well as Professor Michał Kleiber, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
